- Guatemala 2001 Apparel Sourcing Show |
| E & J Textile Group participated
as an exhibitor at 2001 Apparel Sourcing Show between
last May 16 through May 18 in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
The Show, hosted by Guatemala Trade Promotion Corporation,
offered unique opportunities of match making between textile
producing companies from Central America and buying minded
or sourcing minded American companies. This show was established
as for Guatemalan manufacturers only when it first started
about eight years ago, however, it has become a region's
most authoritative international manufacturer's show in
Central America starting this year. E & J Textile Group's
booth drew most attendees' stops and had held numerous
meetings/consultings with major buyers. The reason why
we were so successful in the show was that we were experts
in explaining CBTPA and also we let those buyers what
opportunities and benefits they can have while working
together with us in terms of utilizing our Nicaragua facility
as well as our US facilities. Mr. James Kim, Chairman
of the group, Mr. Charles Carroll and Michael Chang were
there to lead the various meetings. |

February 2001
- Establishment of Nicaragua Sewing Facility
|
| The construction that started
just last fall has come to an end. As of March 2001, 73,000
sq.ft. sewing facility is operating with 250 sewing machines
and plans to increase to 500 machines in the near future.
Under the direct order of James Kim, Chairman at the site,
the persistence and dedication paid off by completing
the building in less than 5 months, not to mention tremendous
savings for the cost of construction. Located next to
the new building, is a land same size as the first, ready
for construction in the time of expansion. Located in
the fourth largest city, Masaya, our facility is only
30 meters away from the major road that leads to Capital
City, Managua. With geographic location and economic advantage
in changing hand craftsmanship tradition to industrial,
our facility will contribute greatly in helping to shape
this area become a major industry center in Masaya. |
